A man in his early 40's has been shot in North Co. Dublin.

He was found on Kilshane Road, in Finglas at around ten to nine this evening.

The man suffered a number of gunshot wounds to the legs.

He's been taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A black BMW car was reported leaving the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact Finglas Garda Station.
