Police in north Belfast are appealing for information following a shooting incident at a fast food outlet that has left a man in a critical condition.

The man was shot on the Oldpark Road at about 20 to 6 yesterday evening.

A short time late a blue coloured Vauxhall Astra estate car was seen leaving the scene and a car matching this description was found on fire a short time later nearby in Torrens Gardens.

The man remains in hospital in a critical condition.

PSNI officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
