Gardaí are investigating after a man died on board an Aer Lingus flight from Lisbon to Dublin this evening.
The plane was diverted after a 24-year-old man, who is not believed to be Irish, became agitated about an hour into the journey.
The man became unwell and bit another passenger, he then fell unconscious and was pronounced dead.
A medical emergency was declared and flight EI485 was diverted to Cork Airport, where it landed at around 5:40pm this evening.
The 170 passengers and crew members were taken from the plane and are still being interviewed by Gardai.
One man, who was bitten during the flight, is being treated at Cork University Hospital.
