Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N11 near Bray in Co. Wicklow that occurred this evening at about 20 to 8.

A pedestrian in his late 30's or early 40's was fatally injured when he was struck by a car.

The female driver of the car was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s hospital.

Her condition is not yet known.

The northbound carriageway of the N11 between junctions 7 and 8 is closed to facilitate Garda forensic collision investigators.
