A woman has died after being critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the M50 this week.

The female driver was involved in a collision with two trucks on the motorway on Wednesday morning.

The motorway was closed for seven hours following the crash involving the woman's car and two trucks, close to junction 7, Lucan.

The woman was critically injured and was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Gardaí have confirmed she passed away earlier today as a result of her injuries.
