Our abortion laws will be discussed at the first public hearing of the Oireachtas Committee on the Eighth Amendment today.
The chairperson of the Citizens' Assembly Justice Mary Laffoy will be the first person to address the body.
The Assembly recommended that abortion should be available without restrictions, and said the Oireachtas should legislate on the matter.
The Committee's been asked to advise the Oireachtas on that legislation, as well as possible changes to the constitution.
