The new acting President of the Irish Farmers Association has promised full transparent in how the union is run.
Tim O'Leary has taken over from Eddie Downey, who has stepped aside as President after it emerged he is paid €147,000 a year.
Agriculture minister Simon Coveney has welcomed the move, as IFA members speak out against the huge pay packets.
The move now means the association is without both of its top leaders - but observers believe that might be a positive development.
The affair also underlines how few unions and lobby groups disclose the pay of their top officials.
