Aer Lingus passengers are facing major travel disruption at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Cabin crew, who are members of the IMPACT trade union, are to hold a 24-hour work stoppage on Friday the 30th of May in the ongoing dispute over rostering.

The Union says crew are getting just one day off in 13, are exhausted at work - and some have required medical attention because of it.

IMPACT members have voted by 97 per cent in favour of taking the industrial action.

Union spokesman Niall Shanahan says holding the strike on a bank holiday weekend shows the extent of the cabin crew's frustration

Aer Lingus says the threatened industrial action is completely unwarranted.

In a statement the airline says it will continue to engage with the union on the rosters dispute.

The company says it will do everything it can to prevent disruption to customers.
