The Environment Minister says a blockade of a site of temporary, emergency accommodation for families affected by the Carrickmines fire is ‘shameful and disturbing’.
A group of locals have blocked the site at Glenamuck Cottages with cars and heavy machinery.
It had been earmarked by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council to be used by a family of 15 for a maximum of 8 months while a permanent site is built.
Five adults and five children died in Saturday’s fire - which destroyed a halting site.
Minister Alan Kelly says this evening’s blockade is a disgrace.
