Today FM would like to acknowledge an interview which we broadcast with a representative of Transparency International on 18 August 2015 concerning Alan Shatter TD, which was based on material taken from the Irish Daily Star, was not accurate. We apologise to Deputy Shatter for broadcasting that untrue material.

Today FM is happy to clarify Mr Shatter made a visit to the Middle East in late 2013 in his capacity as Minister for Justice and Defence. This involved him undertaking engagements in Lebanon, Jordan and Israel including visiting Irish troops on various UN duties.

Ahead of that visit Minister Shatter was asked by his officials to supply passport photographs and a receipt for a visa to Lebanon.
