The Psychiatric Nurses Association has confirmed that its ambulance personnel members are to go on strike next month.
Around 500 of its members will hold a national day of strike action on Wednesday December 19th.
This will include staff such as paramedics, advanced paramedics and emergency medical technicians.
They're taking the action in a row over union recognition and the deduction of union subscriptions.

Staff around the country will stop work that Wednesday from 7am to 5pm.
The action marks a significant escalation in a dispute which began in October.
Ambulance workers represented by SIPTU are not involved in the action.
