An American woman has told Graham DwyerÂ’s murder trial that the Foxrock architect told her Elaine OÂ’Hara asked him to kill her.
Darci Day claims he also spoke about travelling to the US to end her life by stabbing her during sex.
Her testimony was broadcast live from the US and delivered to monitors in front of Mr. Justice Tony Hunt, the jurors, both legal teams and two large screens behind the bench.
She said she met Graham Dwyer online in 2011 at a time when she was depressed and used to visit various adult websites to discuss fantasties she had about dying.
“I needed someone to talk to” she said. “He was there and listened”.
She claimed the accused mentioned Elaine OÂ’Hara and told her the childcare worker was also suicidal and had asked him to take her life.
He also confided in her about his fantasy to stab a woman during sex, she said and even talked about plans to travel to the US to cut her throat while they had sex.
During her cross examination, she said she didnÂ’t think he was serious and would have reported him to the police if she did.
Mr. Dwyer, of Kerrymount Close, Foxrock denies murdering Elaine OÂ’Hara in the Dublin Mountains in Aug 2012. The trial will resume hearing evidence on Thursday.
