When someone in Ireland says to you "I'll be there in a minute" what do they really mean?

A new study has actually timed it, and found that an Irish minute can be as long as 11 minutes 30 seconds in County Carlow, or as short as 2 minutes 52 seconds in Leitrim.

It also found that when someone says to you "We should meet up soon" - a third of them mean never.

When someone says to you I'm "dead late", they're generally behind by around 43 minutes.

The survey of 1 thousand Irish people was carried out by the EBS Building Society.

It also found the most annoying saying around time is "two shakes of a lamb's tail", followed by "yonks".
