Record-breaking cold weather is hitting the north east of the United States - with frostbite warnings and fresh snowfall.

Dangerous driving conditions - resulted in a massive pile-up yesterday on Indiana's interstate 65.

More than 60 vehicles were involved - and 12 people were taken to hospital.

Meanwhile here - Met Éireann has issued a cold temperature warning - with temperatures of minus 4 degrees reported - the alert remains in place until lunchtime. (12.00)
