Irish Water Safety is renewing its appeal to people to stay vigilant around lakes, rivers and the sea.
The call comes following the death of three people in two separate incidents in Kerry and Cork this week.
Two nuns died after getting into difficulty while swimming at Inch Strand, while a man drowned in a boating accident near Schull.
