Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information on the murder of Paul Quinn ten years to the day since he was beaten to death on a Monaghan farm.

Mr Quinn was lured to a farm at Tullycorra in Castleblayney on October 20th 2007 where he was held hostage and beaten by a group of men.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he died later that night.

His family believe he was killed by the IRA.

This morning, gardaí said 23 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation over the past ten years - 14 by gardaí and nine by the PSNI.

Investigators have obtained over 700 statements regarding the murder and nearly 2000 individual lines of inquiry have been pursued.

The investigation remains active and is currently under review by the Serious Crime Review Team.
