Appeal for information on the disappearance of Deirdre Jacobs in Kildare 15 years ago

Deirdre Jacob's father says it's never too late to come forward with information about his missing daughter.

Her parents, along with the Gardai and Crimestoppers have issued a renewed appeal for information about her disappearance 15 years ago on Sunday.

Deirdre Jacob, who was 18 years old when she went missing, was last seen walking along the Barretstown Road, Roseberry, from the Newbridge Direction, shortly after 3pm on 28 July 1998.

On that day Deirdre was carrying a black canvas bag with the yellow Caterpillar logo (CAT). This bag has never been found.

Commenting on the appeal, Superintendent Joseph Prendergast said that: “15 years on, we are very anxious to get some answers for Deirdre Jacob’s family. If you have any information, I urge you to call Crimestoppers today. Perhaps you saw something out of the ordinary at the time but dismissed it as unimportant. What seems insignificant to you could be crucial”.
