Apple has apologised after criticism for admitting it deliberately slows down some old iPhones.

The tech giant says it'll now replace batteries for less money - and offer software in 2018 so customers can monitor their device's battery performance.

Apple previously said it slowed some models with ageing batteries to "prolong the life" of them.
