Parents have also admitted to choosing the shortest story on the shelf so they can get through it faster.
32% admit skimming a chapter or two while reading to their kids.
Another 1 in 3 said they rush through entire books.

The survey also asked parents to name their favourite kids books.
The Gruffalo came out on top with Winnie the Pooh in second and BFG in third.
The study was carried out by bed maker Silentnight to mark International Literary Day which is today.
