A man has been arrested following an armed robbery in Co Tipperary.
Officers at Clonmel were called to a petrol station at Greenane at around 4.30am this morning - where a man was reported to have left the scene on foot carrying a firearm - no-one was injured during the incident..
The suspect brandished and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at Gardaí as he approached Clonmel town centre - he was kept under observation and the vicinity was cleared.
Armed Gardaí arrived at the scene and confronted the suspect and arrested him.
He is currently being held at Clonmel Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.
