Secondary school teachers have voted overwhelmingly in favour of withdrawing from working additional hours - known as Croke Park hours.
ASTI members voted against the hours by 68% to 31 per cent in a ballot that had a 76 per cent turn out.
Teachers say the hours are unproductive and negatively impact on students education because they divert teachers time away from their core duties.
The hours were introduced under the Haddington Road Agreement
The Standing Committee of the ASTI will meet tomorrow to consider the outcome of the ballot.
