Floods in the US state of Missouri have forced hundreds of people out of their homes after four days of storms sent rivers to record levels.

At least 13 people have been killed and hundreds of roads closed.

More than 40 people across the US have died of weather-related causes over the past week, following torrential rain, tornadoes and blizzards

Governor Jay Nixon has called in members of the National Guard - he says the state may see record breaking floods.
