At least 33 migrants, including five children, have drowned trying to reach Greece.

Turkish coast guards rescued 75 others from the sea near the resort of Ayvacik en route to the Greek island of Lesbos.

The survivors are reported to come from Afghanistan, Syria and Myanmar.

So far this year, 218 people have died as they attempted to make the crossing from Turkey to Greece.
