An attacker has injured six people on board a train in Switzerland.

The 27 year old man Swiss man stabbed fellow passengers including a six year old child.

He then set the train carriage alight using a flammable liquid.

The attack happened on a train near Salez-Sennwald in eastern Switzerland.

Seven people including the suspected attacker were admitted to hospitals with burn and stab wounds.

A motive for the attack has not yet been established.
