A man is due in court charged in connection with an attempted robbery at a shop in Clondalkin in Dublin yesterday.

A masked man entered the shop armed with a knife at around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

He threatened staff and demanded money but an altercation ensued with one of the workers.

The staff member was injured on his hand - Gardaí arrived at the scene and a 32 year old man was arrested.

He's been charged and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning.
