Australian batsman Phillip Hughes has died from the injuries sustained when he was hit by a ball in a domestic game earlier this week.

He was 25.

The cricketer suffered serious head injuries when he was struck by a short delivery on Tuesday in Sydney.

The Australian team doctor has confirmed he never regained consciousness.
