A survey of 2 thousand couples found the average couple spend more than 21 thousand euro on their wedding, with 5 per cent spending more than 30 grand.

On average, couples invite 151 guests to celebrate their big day, and hotels are still the most popular wedding venue.

Just one in five couples share the cost with their parents.
