Health and alcohol awareness groups are voicing growing concerns of about the health dangers of the neknomination internet drinking game
As part of the game, people are nominated by a friend to drink a pint of alcohol very quickly and post a video of themselves online.
Paul Gilligan, CEO at St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services said: “We need to educate young people on the short and long term effects of alcohol consumption, and the risks of binge drinking behaviours that have become commonplace in Ireland.”
Meanwhile, CEO of drinkaware.ie Fionnula Sheehan says people thinking of participating in this game need to consider both the risk to their own health and the health of others.
