Ian Bailey has lodged an appeal against the outcome of his unsuccessful High Court action over his arrest for the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

His solicitor Frank Buttimer has confirmed that Bailey has started an appeal over the judgement, which found that Gardai had not conspired to falsely implicate him in the murder.

58 year old Ian Bailey from Schull was twice arrested for questioning about Ms Toscan Du Plantier's murder in December 1996 but was released without charge on each occasion.
