Blood donor clinics have seen a boost in donations since a national appeal yesterday.
The blood supply level for the country had reduced to just 3 days.
But despite the spike in donors today, the Irish Blood transfusion service needs 1,500 more over the next 3 weeks to stabilise the country's supply.
