Gardaí are investigating the death of a man at a flat on Dublin's South Circular Road this afternoon.

It followed an incident at the residence at around close to the junction with Bloomfield Avenue in Dublin 8.

When Gardaí went to the scene at around 3.45pm, they found a second man on the road nearby.

He was taken to St James' Hospital with injuries that are thought to be non life-threatening.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been informed.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was on the South Circular Road this afternoon between 3 and 4pm to contact them.
