Gardai investigating the discovery of a man's body in a canal in Co Kildare over the weekend - have launched a fresh appeal for information in an effort to identify where the man was killed.

The dismembered body was found wrapped in plastic in a suitcase by passers-by in Ardclough on Saturday.

Gardai believe the man was killed in another area, and are appealing for anyone who noticed anything odd about their home or workplace after returning from a weekend away to contact them.

They say they haven't yet been able to identify the man, but they believe he was killed sometime between Thursday and Monday.

Superintendent Gerard Wall says they've had 80 calls from members of the public, and are appealing for more witnesses.
