A seven-year-old boy has died following a 3-car collision in the north.

He was among 8 people injured in the crash yesterday evening on the Old Carrick Road in Newtownabbey.

He died from his injuries at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast overnight.

The driver of the car he was in remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Police in Newtownabbey are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
