A 7 year old boy has lost his fight for life following a traffic accident in Co Meath earlier this month that claimed the life of his mother.

The crash involving a truck and a car happened on the 12th of January on the Kilberry to Nobber Road.

The boy's mother was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but died later that day.

Gardai say the boy passed away today at Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.
