A Roma boy has been awarded damages of €60,000, in a case arising from his removal by Gardaí from the family home.
The High Court action was taken on his behalf by his parents, who sought damages for false imprisonment, unlawful arrest and breach of his human rights.
The incident happened after an anonymous report to Gardai over concerns that the blonde-haired child may not belong to the family.
