Britain will not take part in any military action in Syria, after MPs last night voted to block participation.
The House of Commons rejected plans from David Cameron which would have allowed the UK to intervene with the backing of the UN.
The prime minister said he respected the outcome of the vote, meaning British forces will not now participate in any military operation.
