Workers at Cadbury in Dublin are to be balloted on a deal that has led to the suspension of strike action at the plant.
The strike by SIPTU and UNITE members was suspended last night, after the Workplace Relations Commission put forward new proposals.
The strike began on Thursday due to the company's decision to out-source 17 jobs a the factory.
UNITE says the WRC plan involves cost-saving measures that do not require the out-sourcing of jobs.
Management at parent company Mondelez Ireland has welcomed the progress but says Cadbury's manufacturing business here remains under intense pressure from international competition.
