There's been a call for an independent inquiry into claims of bugging at the Garda Ombudsman's office.
It's come from the head of the Oireachtas Oversight Committee, Sinn Fein Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn.
Justice Minister Alan Shatter will brief his cabinet colleagues this morning on the issue, after meeting with Commissioners from the Ombudsman's office yesterday.
Last night the Garda Commissioner demanded clarification on a statement from the Ombudsman in which they said they found no evidence of Garda misconduct, after looking into 'anomalies' on their system.
