The Dáil has heard calls for the Garda Commissioner to resign or be fired.

The calls came from TDs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly, who say Noirin O'Sullivan's position is still untenable.

Last night it emerged that lawyers for the commissioner told the O'Higgins Commission they were wrong to question the integrity of the whistleblower Maurice McCabe - but that they still planned to question his motives.
