Irish embassy staff are due to visit Pat Hickey in prison in Rio today.
Mr Hickey, who's stepped aside as Olympic Council of Ireland president, is being investigated by Brazilian police in relation to allegations of illegal re-sale of tickets for the Rio games.
Meanwhile, a TD says he has been approached by several sporting bodies who want Pat Hickey to resign fully as head of the Olympic Council of Ireland.
Noel Rock says a full resignation is the only way for the Council to put the Rio ticketing scandal behind it.
He's also called on the Director of Corporate Enforcement to investigate the relationship between the council's ticketing agent Pro10 and its previous partner, THG Group.
