The Dail's heard calls for May 23rd to be declared a bank holiday - in honour of the referendum on marriage equality.
The call came from one gay man in a letter to Sinn Fein's Padraig Mac Lochlainn, read in the Dáil today.
TDs have been debating laws to give effect to May's referendum and allow full civil marriage for same-sex couples.
