The DSPCA is calling for members of the public to help foster abandoned puppies for a few weeks.
The Dublin organisation says it has taken in 19 puppies this week alone, with many suffering as a result of neglect.
While the DSPCA seeks new homes for the young dogs, they are calling on people to help look after them.
Brian Gillen, DSPCA CEO, says many of dogs are suffering from skin conditions or are underweight - and therefore they need some 'special TLC' before being moved to a new home.
He explained: "Fostering would be for 3-4 weeks and we provide all the food and vet treatment needed, you just need to offer them a temporary home!"
Anyone who can help is being asked to contact foster@dspca.ie
