The captain of the ferry that sank off the coast of South Korea has apologised to the families of the victims on board.

69 year-old Lee Joon-seok has been arrested on suspicion of negligence and abandoning people in need.

28 people are confirmed dead - with hundreds still unaccounted for.

One of them - helmsman Cho Joon-Ki - was in control of the ferry went it capsized.
