British police say there are five casualties after a vehicle crashed into pedestrians in Newcastle.

It happened outside the Westgate Sports Centre at around 9.15 this morning.

A large group of Muslim families had gathered in the area for Eid prayers.

A 42 year old woman has been arrested.

Emergency services are still at the scene.
