The start of January has seen a 43 per-cent increase in car sales, over last year.
New figures show 8 thousand 130 cars were sold between the 1st and 9th of january - up from 5 thousand 700.
The figures are from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, and car website Motorcheck-dot-ie.
