Care home raise own concerns about HIQA report

A centre in Co Meath - for people with intellectual disabilities - says it has serious concerns about the accuracy of a damning HIQA report.

The Health Information and Quality Authority says there was a significant denial of residents' civil, legal and human rights at the Redwood Extended Care Facility in Stramullen.

The HIQA inspectors found that a high number of frequent and intensive physical interventions and restrictive measures were used on a regular basis.

The owners of the facility are raising issues with the investigative process - and the means by which the findings have been brought into the public domain.
