Gardaí are investigating a cash in transit robbery in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Two men threatened security staff who were delivering money to a Post Office in Bluebell before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

At around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, two men - one believed to be armed with a handgun - approached and threatened security staff as they were delivering money to a Post Office on La Touche Road.

The two men fled the scene - with an undisclosed sum of cash - in a grey coloured Volkswagen Golf - partial registration 07 D.

The car was being driven by a third man and left the scene in the direction of Kylemore Road before being later recovered by Gardai.

No injuries were reported.

The men - both in their 20's- are being described as 5'7" and 5'9" in height.

As part of the on going investigation, Gardai stopped a car on Francis St in the early hours of this morning.

The car and driver were searched and a sum of money was discovered.

A 19 year-old man was arrested and is currently being detained at Kevin St Garda station.
