An explosion at a Power Station in Oxfordshire in England has been declared a "major incident".

One death and a number of casualties have been reported at the site in Didcot which is about 20 km south of Oxford.

It is understood part of the facility was in the process of being demolished.

Pictures show a large part of a disused building on the site has been reduced to rubble.

Six ambulances, two air ambulances, and a hazardous area response team have been deployed.
