The Taoiseach has officially launched the Census 2016.
Forms will be distributed to households around the country over the next few weeks ahead of census night on April 24th.
Census 2016 takes place on April 24th, 100yrs to the day that the Easter Rising began - it will help us plan for the Ireland of tomorrow.

The day of the census also marks the calendar anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the information we get every 5 years from the census is vital.
The data collected is used for a range of purposes such as planning for schools, train lines and childcare facilities
