The Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs committee has met with Ibrahim Halawa.

The 19 year old has now been in jail in Egypt for two years after being arrested in Cairo at a time when protests are taking place in the city.

Fine Gael TD Pat Breen says Ibrahim has asked for access to more medical supports and more time to spend with his family on visits.

Deputy Breen says he's in reasonable spirits.
